Could you spend as few hours a week playing games or doing puzzles with patients at Dorset County Hospital (DCH)?
DCH’s Volunteer Service is looking for people to join its new Activity Squad – a group dedicated to helping patients take part in activities to support their mental and physical wellbeing.
This could include playing board games, doing jigsaws, singing and other activities that patients may wish to try.
Hannah Robinson, Volunteer and Patient Experience Lead at Dorset County Hospital, said:
“Our volunteers are such an important part of the team at DCH. They give us the gift of time – which is invaluable and makes a huge difference. Our Activity Squad will spend their time socialising with patients and helping them remain active. Little things like playing a game or doing a puzzle can really help support a patient’s recovery and enhance their experience with us.
“If you enjoy spending time with people, have a good sense of humour and thoughts about how to support patient wellbeing, we would love to hear from you. We’re committed to supporting our volunteers and will make sure you enjoy your time with us too.”
