More than 50 volunteers gathered at Sunninghill Preparatory School in Dorchester for an afternoon of fun and games, plus sandwiches, cakes and refreshments by Dorset Delights.

Like many organisations, the Friends of DCH has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This has affected the number of volunteers, which has drastically reduced, meaning services and activities have had to be curtailed. For long periods of 2020 and 2021 we had to completely close our hospital shop and when we reopened our sales were significantly lower and we now barely meet our overheads. Continue reading

NHS Blood and Transplant are urging people in Dorset to give blood as new targets reveal 1,589 new donors are needed in the county to save lives over the next year.
Nationally one million more blood donors are needed over the next five years to ensure patients receive the right type of blood to save and improve their lives, with a particular need for Black African, Black Caribbean and younger donors. Continue reading
