A new art exhibition is capturing people’s eye at Dorset County Hospital.
Thanks to Dorchester Camera Club the walls inside the hospital are looking a lot brighter.
The club has partnered with Arts In Hospital in a new exhibition to display the talent of its members.
The exhibition showcases the diversity of interest of club members – from landscapes of the world, to wildlife and nature, street photography and portraits.
Alex Murdin, Arts Manager at Arts In Hospital, said: “Arts In Hospital exists to bring arts and culture into the hospital for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff, and to connect the hospital to the wider community it serves.
“The artwork by Dorchester Camera Club is fantastic and definitely makes an impact and brightens up the corridors.”
The artwork can be found on the corridors in North Wing Level 2 leading towards Damers Restaurant. The exhibition will remain at the hospital until Saturday 27 April.
Arts In Hospital have also commissioned three Dorchester Camera Club members to create artwork for the new Robert White Centre.
Dorchester Camera Club is an active and friendly club with a membership varying in age and ability. Its members have also received a number of awards.
Club meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7.15pm at The Brownsword Hall in Poundbury.
There are a number of specialist group meeting at other times who provide help to members to expand their skills and experiment with new techniques.
There are also special events and workshops, organised by the club, with some outdoor meetings in the summer.
The majority of the photographs in the exhibition are for sale and those not for sale have a coloured spot on the adjacent title block.
