The Ridgeway Singers and Band (no connection to Ridgeway Radio), led by Phil Humphries and Tim Laycock, performed a concert of Dorset carols, folksongs, dance tunes and new songs, with readings exploring the fascinating history of rural healthcare in Dorset.<\/p>\n

The concert was the final celebratory event in honour of the 175th annivesary of Dorset County Hospital and was broadcast live online and to patients in Dorset County Hospital. You can listen again to the concert by going to our Listen page<\/a> and selecting the Arts In Hospital heading.<\/p>\n

The music is based on the oral histories collected as part of the 175 Years of Rural Healthcare project. After the concert the large audience were invited to the launch of The Treves Trail – a walking geocaching route tracing the footsteps of the 19th century doctor Sir Frederick Treves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
